Academic View Of TV News Mahirah Shah Interviews Zubli Zainordin Part 5

Mahirah Shah: Is there any specific duration given to reporters to finish news and if there are, what is the usual duration given?

Zubli Zainordin: Yes. Most definitely each reporter is given a duration to complete an assigned news task.

Surely this is the practice for both RTM 1 and TV3.

There are shifts for reporters in general. It is easier to categorize this into before and after the news airing.

Early mornings some reporters are already in the field. Shifts follow at noon and early evening. Perhaps, on time as in dateline or deadline, an hour before the reader of presenter greets the viewers.

When so, a reporter can give leads for non-vt news, or go live as stand-upper.

Else, reporters covering news after the airtime shall submit early the next day.
